  • If ATTILA is installed on a network, one computer should be designated the ATTILA Server.
  • The Server can also be a workstation, if it runs an O/S that can also run DOS or Windows software. (E.g. Windows NT). However, this is not recommended, as it reduces performance, and compromises both security and reliability.
  • Ideally, the Server should run on a computer that CANNOT be used as a workstation. E.g. on a computer running Linux, using SAMBA to emulate Windows Server.
  • ATTILA can, in fact, use any server which can share files to a Windows or DOS network. (This includes Windows NT, Windows 3.11/9x/ME/XP/Vista/7, Novell, UNIX/SAMBA, and Linux/SAMBA.)
