Web ATTILA
Web-ATTILA is a Web-based front-end for the ATTILA Debt Recovery system. It runs on the Open-Source Apache web server. It provides a high level of security, and all the User ID and password facilities that are standard for ATTILA.
It lets Users, who have the requisite permissions, view and enter cases, and make payments against those cases.
A Web-ATTILA installation can support multiple clients, with each client restricted to accessing only those cases that are his.

WEB LOG IN SCREEN

Web Log In Screen

This will be the screen that the User will see when they access the web-site. To enter Web-ATTILA, the User must enter the site password. When it is correctly entered they will see the User login screen.
  • Each active Web-ATTILA session is assigned a notional Console number, which is used for audit trail purposes. (Console numbers are shared between standard ATTILA sessions and Web-ATTILA sessions.)
USER ID LOGIN

User ID login

The User must enter his personal User ID and password on this screen. The System will then check them against the list of approved and active User IDs. It will check:
  • That the User ID is not blocked.
  • That the User ID is not currently logged on elsewhere.
  • That the number of simultaneously active Users has not been exceeded.
  • That the workstation does not have another Web-ATTILA session already active
The System will then determine the access rights of this User:
  • Is the User restricted to accessing only the cases of a particular Client on the System?
  • Can the User enter cases?
  • Can the User enter payments?
The User will then see the Options screen.

OPTIONS SCREEN

Options Screen

The software is aware of the permissions that each User ID has. If a user does not have permission to enter cases or payments, then those options will not be displayed.

When the User has finished using Web-ATTILA, they should click on the Log-Out button to terminate the session. (If there is no activity on the workstation for 15 minutes, then Web-ATTILA will automatically terminate the session.)

When a session has been terminated, the workstation and console number are released for re-use by another user.

SELECT DEBTOR SCREEN

Select Debtor Screen

Debtors can be displayed by entering any of:
  • The client reference number.
  • The debtor ID and the case ID.
  • His car registration number (in parking fine cases).
  • His claim number.
If there are several cases that match the entered parameters, a list will be displayed for the user to choose from.

If the case requested does not belong to the User, then he will not be allowed to see it. (If multiple cases have the same Client Reference Number or car registration number, only those belonging to this User will be displayed on the selection list.)

Payment

Depending on the case type, there are many different items that can be displayed. Web-ATTILA will only display items that are relevant to the case. (E.g. levy fees will not be displayed for Debt cases.)

Copies of this screen can be printed to provide a hardcopy status report on the case.
Having reached this screen, the User can either return to the Options screen, put the case on STOP, add a new web message, or click to go to the Payments-Entry screen.

NEW CASE SCREEN

This screen lets users enter new cases if they have the required privileges.

New Case Screen
New Cases

Web-ATTILA understands many different case types. (A few are shown on the pull-down list on the illustration above.) Some User IDs are restricted to entering only a subset of the range of case types. Such Users will see only their authorised case types on the pull-down list. (This also applies to ATTILA sites that do not support the full range of case types.)

Depending on the case type selected, Web-ATTILA will display different prompts/screens to collect the appropriate data for that case type.
E.g. the car registration number will only be collected if the case type is a parking offence.

When the User has entered the data, it will be validated, and if it is invalid, an appropriate error message will be displayed.

If the case is valid, it will immediately be added to the ATTILA database, and henceforth be accessible both from ATTILA and Web-ATTILA.

After a new case has been entered, Web-ATTILA will display it.

ADD A NEW PAYMENT SCREEN

If the user is authorised to enter payments, he can select the Payment-Entry option, and he will see the screen below.

new payment

The User must now select a Debtor/Case to receive the payment. This can be done in 3 ways:
  • Enter the Client reference number
  • Enter the Debtor and Cases Id
  • Access this screen from the View-Case screen, which will select the appropriate case automatically.
If the User attempts to access a case that he is not authorised to see, an error message will be generated.

All payments entered by this screen are assumed to have gone direct to the Creditor. Payments cannot be registered if they have been made to the recovery agent.
Immediately after a payment has been entered, Web-ATTILA will display the case details, with the updated balance.
STOP CASE SCREEN

It’s possible to stop a case from View-Case Screen. When the user chooses this option, he has to enter the reason why he stopped it.

When the case is stopped, the View-Case page is reloaded, to apply changes.

ADD A NEW WEB MESSAGE SCREEN

The user can add a new web message from the View-Case page as well. When he chooses this option, the screen below is displayed.

Web Message
A web message is used to add notes about the debtor, or case that the client needs to bring to the attention of the office.

You would use this to tell the office about a balance change to the case or other important information.

This information is immediately entered on the debtor diary on ATTILA. It will be printed out in the office at the next diary run.  This entry will then be added to the audit trail of the case on ATTILA.
